ZOOKI AND CASA PARADOX STORES, LEVEL
ONE, THE CHANAKYA, NEW DELHI
18th to 26th October 2018
New Delhi, 18th October
2018: It is the festival of caring and
sharing, a moment when good triumphs over evil and the lights for Diwali herald
a new dawn. That time of the year when those with a voice fight for the mute
and festive gifting becomes an occasion to support causes closest to one’s
heat.
In keeping with the spirit, Casa
Pop led by Raseel Gujral Ansal and Zooki, a multi designer store by Charu Singh
host an exhibition of not just their own festive collections but also a very
exceptional and endearing collection of hand blown glassware crafted by Indian
artisans for PFA (People for Animals) under the creative direction of Smt.
Maneka Gandhi, honorable Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Govt of India.
These are beautiful hand blown
colored wine and water glasses inspired by the world famous Italian Murano
glass. The limited edition glasses offer a great opportunity for the discerning
to own and cherish these beautifully crafted pieces. Proceeds from sales will help
fund the 36 hospitals and animal shelters run by the NGO, People for Animals.
Says Smt.
Maneka Gandhi, “Diwali is the
time you could invest in unique gifts of social importance. Products that not
just grace your home but also support a cause closest to your heart. My request
to everyone is ‘always buy festive gifts from NGOs who work in the field to
help the helpless and be part of their cause. . We are happy to present a
limited edition of hand blown glassware this Diwali.”
For the last two years PFA has been
working with artisans from Firozabad in India to develop the most beautiful
glass in consultation with renowned artist, Momin Latif. While
India has a tradition of making exquisite glass bangles, our heritage of blown
glass making is dwindling. Especially since collectors prefer to buy imported
glassware for their homes. Gradually, the artisans of Firozabad, not finding
the craft lucrative, are unfortunately turning away from this age old
indigenous craft of hand-blown glass making.
It was time for someone to put
their energies into upgrading glass making in India and PFA has done so. With
Momin Latif they chose the best artisans and trained them over a period of two
years to develop water and wine glasses. From being pipette makers for laboratory
equipment, they have become artists who have produced glass- ware that is truly
comparable to Murano glass in its finesse and finish.
Raseel
Gujral Founder of CASA Paradox articulates,
”Casa Pop is coming forward to support
PFA as this cause is close to my heart. Animal welfare is intrinsic to the well
being of our planet. People like us with means have to be the voice. Besides I also
admire the various creative campaigns led by Mrs. Gandhi that give an
expression to the hand made heritage of India.
Animals, meanwhile are also my most endearing muses and this season you
can see them all over our wall paper, art, products and resort wear.”
For this festive edit, Casa
presents a collection for a home that happily speaks a strong and vibrant
design language. Monochrome lines meet bold colors as animal and floral prints
dot this collection. Soft pastel rose meets
fresh reds as exquisite cushions, table ware, art d’objets and knick
knacks get set to jazz up your home.
Charu
Singh Founder of Zooki further adds, ”This amazing collection is the culmination
of Mrs. Gandhi’s dedication to animal welfare, the sterling support of her NGO
to the cause and her own eye for creative endeavors. As a family we support the
commitment to prevention of cruelty against animals and their rehabilitation.”
A multi brand store that endeavors
to scout new talent, house new names and emblazon the look with bold cuts and
silhouettes, Zooki formally launches their first bridge to couture store at The
Chanakya with this festive edit. For
Diwali this year, Zooki recommends women to combine free spirited shirts with
lehengas, wear a lot of florals and bring back the romance of hand woven silks.
This beautiful initiative, with the
help of the appreciation of patrons, is bound to infuse a new lease of life in
the preservation and promotion of the hand-blown glass craft of India. Besides
support the 36 hospitals that heal over a 1000 animals each month in their
facilities.
